In A Maid with a Child in a Pantry (c. 1656 - 1660) a maidservant offers a young child a glimpse inside her jug, while open doorways reveal adjoining rooms filled with delicate daylight. Warm tiled floors, carefully observed details and remarkable perspective create a serene, intimate world, celebrating the quiet beauty of ordinary life.
